TOPP40 PUBLISHING CEASES PUBLICATION OF TOPP40 MAGAZINE The Board of Directors for TOPP40 has decided to cease publication of the magazine. The August 27 issue will thus be the last under current management. The Swedish Association of Record Suppliers (GLF) canceled TOPP40's contract to distribute the GLF's list of hit records, and the Swedish branch of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry is starting its own magazine, called Musikindustrin. Hence, TOPP40's management no longer considers it viable to publish the magazine on a commercial basis. The company is conducting discussions with interested parties on the sale of TOPP40. If these negotiations end favorably, a new publisher could resume the production of TOPP40 soon.
