Modern Times Group MTG AB (publ.) (‘MTG’ or ‘the Group’), the international entertainment broadcasting group, today announced that MTG Norway and Canal Digital have signed a non-exclusivity agreement, whereby both parties have agreed not to exclusively distribute any of the five most watched channels in Norway. NRK1 and NRK2 are already distributed on both the Viasat and the Canal Digital satellite pay-TV platforms, and both TV distribution platforms are in discussions with TV2 regarding the inclusion of the channel in their packages.

Hans-Holger Albrecht, President and CEO of MTG, commented: “This agreement is an important and significant step in the development of the television industry in Norway. We are committed to making our channels as widely available as possible, on an ‘anytime anywhere’ basis, and this agreement will hopefully ensure that viewers are able to watch all of their favourite channels on either satellite platform.”
