METRO SIGNS CONTRACT FOR DISTRIBUTION IN EIGHT DUTCH CITIES Due to rumours in the press, MTG confirm that an agreement has been signed with Dutch State Railways - NS Stations. Among the cities where Metro will be distributed as from the 1st of June 1999, are Amsterdam, Arnhem, Den Haag, Groningen, Eindhoven, Maastricht, Rotterdam and Utrecht plus all other major connecting points in the Netherlands. NS Stations, which control most Rail as well as Commuter Train Lines in the Netherlands, daily transport more than one million passengers. The deal is for Metro the largest so far since the Dutch edition of the newspaper will be distributed on a national basis. The number of readers is estimated to at least one million each day.
